The Postmodern Viewpoint

We hear the word “postmodern” circulating in cyberspace. What is postmodern? In my view it is a philosophy that is about as useful as a dead plant. Here are the main points of the postmodern view:
  • Denies the possibility of ever knowing ultimate and abiding truth.
  • Truth is subject to ongoing revision.
  • Ultimate reality depends on individual belief. (Each individual determines what is right and wrong.)
  • Life has no meaning except what each individual gives it.
  • Human life has no special worth.
  • The universe originated in some primal cosmic accident.
  • Empirical scientific method alone gives reliable information.
  • Humans are intelligent animals without a spirit and void of divine guidance.
  • Rejects the supernatural as legend and myth.
  • Most major universities and so-called “intellectuals” advocate a postmodern worldview.

With no universal standard for truth and human behavior disruption and chaos percolates through society and civilization crumbles.
