The Absolute Truth

Jesus said , “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”  (John 8:31-32 NIV)

Postmodern philosophers contend there exists no absolute truth. Truth, they say, is whatever you believe; whatever she believes; whatever he believes…and you can’t disagree with another’s belief because this would “hurt their feelings.” No wonder chaos reins.
But wait! The Holy Bible contains the absolute truth. We can remain secure in the divinely inspired Word of God, the authentic source for living free from doubt and confusion.
The Holy Bible contains the inerrant Word of God assuring us that:
1. Whoever believes in the saving grace of Jesus will have eternal life.
2. The life of Jesus is the absolute standard of truth.
3. Following Jesus’ teachings leads to the abundant life.
4. God’s warnings are true.
5. God’s promises are true.
6. God’s commandments protect us from harming ourselves and others.
7. The devil seeks to turn us against Christ and lead us to eternal damnation.
8. Satan’s deceptions lead to doubt, discouragement, and despair.
9. God loves us and desires that we live according to his will.
10.  God disciplines us when we wander astray.
11.   The Holy Spirit guides us.
12.   God answers prayers (Although his answers, at times, may be difficult to understand.)
What a blessing to have these reassurances. What a joy to have these standards for living.
