When she entered, the room filled with sparkles. All eyes fixed on the little woman with the powerful engine fueled by overflowing Texas can-do joy. She could quote lengthy Shakespearian passages, sonnets from all the romantics and more Bible verses than the combined staff at Baylor’s Truett Seminary. Her vim and vigor stories transfixed all listeners.
I remember the tinkle of her laughter, her sapphire blue eyes that seemed full of twinkling diamonds, her convivial smile, her buoyant step, the infectious cadence in her voice, but of all the pleasures I recall the most precious was her way of making every person in every room she ever visited feel that to her each one there was the most important person she had ever known.
I love you Aunt Reba. Give Jesus a hearty Texas howdy from all of us. Your spirit tells me that joy lives forevermore.

16 Jan 2020The only thing we truly leave behind with those we shared life with is how we made them feel.
Beautiful story John.
