Late Bloomers

Grandma Moses Began Painting When She Was 78-years Old

Some of Us Are Late Bloomers

  • Joanne Kathleen (J.K.) Rowling is the classic example. A mediocre high school and college student, a low level employee, a divorcee with a dependent child and clinically depressed, she became poverty stricken. The release of the first volume of the Harry Potter series came when she was 32-years old.
  • Ken Fisher who manages $100 billion in stocks and bonds was a drifter until age 30.
  • Tom Brady, quarterback for the New England Patriots was not recruited out of high school.
  • Michael Jordan didn’t make his high school basketball team when he was in the 10th grade.
  • Ray Kroc was 52-years old when he initiated the McDonald’s fast food franchise.
  • Colonel Sanders was 62 when he began the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise.
  • Grandma Moses, the folk artist, did not begin painting seriously until she was 78-years old.

If you haven’t found your talent don’t despair. Everyone has a gift, you just haven’t found your potential yet. There is no age limit for breakthroughs. Keep going, keep dreaming, keep working–you will eventually discover your unique talent.
