When we are trapped by COVID-19 minutes seem to pass like cattle moving slowly across the landscape. During those dark evenings when time’s swift foot slows memories of days long gone flood my mind.
Last night I thought of Wilson Peak one of Colorado’s fifty-four, 14-thousand foot mountains. Near the top of the route my friend and I faced some difficult hand climbing challenges. I stored my ski pole that I used as a walking stick to make the final ascent. On the way down I retrieved it. Descending somewhere along the ridge line I slipped and slid down to be saved by the ski pole that I slammed into the icy snow.
Moral: In an instant our lives can change. Let’s live fully while we can.
